When Safire was created in 2006, the processing and a large part of the qualification of the data measured on our aircraft were entrusted to the CNRM's GMEI/TRAMM team, Safire remaining responsible for the final supply to its users and more broadly to scientific communities. This long and fruitful collaboration has made it possible to satisfy the scientific users, and, beyond that, to develop original tools shared between TRAMM and SAFIRE (AIDA), to ensure a high level of expertise to contribute to the creation of the SAFIRE+ portal , training students in airborne measurement, defining processing standards and makinga full documentation about data and its processing available to users sur les données et leur traitement. The high level of commitment of GMEI/TRAMM colleagues made it possible, to achieve the excellent level of expertise that we know today.
The evolution that we are experiencing was desired by the supervisory authorities of SAFIRE and CNRM to allow the users a better readability of the processes, but also to ensure that Safire has complete control of the processes. Two full-time positions have therefore been transferred from CNRM to SAFIRE for this purpose. Like for any change, a period of adaptation will be necessary for the service to regain its optimal level; the colleagues who have up to now carried out this work within TRAMM will provide all their support so that this period of adaptation is as short as possible.
The CNRM website also reviews this operation, detailing in particular its history and the work accomplished.
