SAFIRE at the 2021 Science festival

On October 9 and 10, the Toulouse aeronautical museum "Aeroscopia" organized a special Science festival "Fête de la science" weekend. As a loyal partner of the museum, SAFIRE therefore naturally contributed to scientific dissemination by running the stand entitled "Flying laboratories at the service of Research".

This year, LAERO was our neighbor to present "A scientific campaign to hunt lightnings", the Exaedre campaign of which experimental set-up our Falcon 20 laboratory twinjet was a keypoint. The two stands jointly presented their activities, their instruments and their research topics to a wide variety of audiences, of all ages and even from several foreign countries. All the speakers greatly appreciated this interaction with interested interlocutors, sometimes passionate and always attentive.

These meetings are a very rich opportunity to discuss scientific knowledge and its challenges with the general public, but also to make the scientific process better known and appreciated. In a context that is sometimes difficult for demanding intellectual procedures, this event will have modestly contributed to giving visitors elements of quality appreciation and, why not, aroused vocations among the youngest.
